Week out at Sea

For our honeymoon we went to Ensanada Mexico on a cruise. On the first night when we set out to sea, there was a good amount of wind which caused a major amount of motion sickness on my part . I became so dizzy that i couldn't keep my balance. We headed down to the room and as we approached we got stopped by our room steward, who was required to introduce himself too each of the guests. As we were standing there talking I could not stand straight and latter made a comment that led us to believe he thought I was drunk. We had a good laugh with that, and the rest of the time I kept getting teased about being a drunk the rest of the week.
Here are some pictures we took during the week.

A certain someone wouldn't let me have the camera that first day because of a picture I accidentally deleted. So the very first day we don't have any pictures, because when it was taken from me, it got put in the suitcase just before our luggage was taken before we got on the boat. So we weren't able to get to it till later that night when we were finally able to go to our room. So the above picture is the first picture we were able to capture of our Cruise Ship; the Carnival Paradise. Our room was on the bottom deck at the back of the boat. Although the motors made it quite shaky and loud we were still able to get a good nights sleep and had quite a beautiful view of the ocean.

Our First stop was at Catalina Island. It was cloudy and overcast every morning of the week except for when we got off the boat to go ashore.

This was when we were on the dock at Catalina before we started to explore.

Calla-Lilli

Hawaiian Flower
There were so many gorgeous flowers ashore we wish we could have captured all of them.

This we thought was the coolest thing. Every night we would enter our room to find a new Towel Creature on our bed. The first night was a duck, but we forgot to take a picture before it was destroyed.

Alligator

Elephant

Snail

Ensanada, Mexico
They have their flag right in the center of the port and you can't turn to take a picture in any direction without capturing it at least a little.

We were only on land at Ensanada for about 45 min before we returned to the ship. We had an amazing time and Loved every minute of it even despite of the dizziness and drunk accusations. LOL
What can you do. You can't control everyones thoughts.

The Beginning

First off, we wanted to Thank everyone for all your love and support. Can you believe it's already been two weeks since the wedding? Crazy Sauce. Brett and I are enjoying married life together and love our little apartment in Provo.

Just a little background for those of you who don't know how we met:
In April of 2010 one of my best friends convinced me to move out for the summer to get the feel of living with roommates before I turned in my mission papers by my 21st birthday that September. I of course agreed and in May I moved into Village on the Parkway bldg C which happens to be the same building Brett was in. Although he was on the bottom floor and I on the top.

That first Sunday I noticed Brett sitting by himself but was too chicken to say anything, but my same friend called him over to sit with us. The three of us became really good friends and we started just hanging out together.

By the end of the summer I was getting ready to move back home to start on my papers, but started getting very ill with making that decision. So I decided to sign on for another year contract. Because I resigned so late I was moved down to the last building in the complex: L. At the time I hadn't told Brett I had officially decided to stay, so he was nervous thinking I had left without telling him where I was going. So at the opening social, come to find out, he was looking everywhere for me. And that same evening he asked me out for the following weekend.

We went on our first date; Sept 4, to a Bees game. I remember the day because my birthday is on the sixth and I remember thinking "this is the best birthday present a girl could ask for." The following week I tagged along with his ward (by changing buildings I changed wards) to go do baptisms at the Timp Temple. Later that evening we went to Wendy's for a frosty, just the two of us. And we got on the subject of a relationship, and from that moment on we were a couple.

I will eternally be grateful for those promptings to stick around and not go on my mission. Brett has been a blessing in my life and I thank all those who have been an influence in his life and raised him to be the man he is today.

I do have to say, I was a little worried in the beginning though. It had been almost two months after dating him before he even held my hand. And another added month before he kissed me. A couple of days after he finally made the move, my roommates told me that "we were getting a little worried so we pulled him aside for you and finally asked him when or if he was ever going to kiss you." I had to laugh, but i guess they do need a big thank you.

Brett spoke to my father on Dec 28th, my mothers birthday. And Proposed on Jan 3 at the Provo Bell Tower after taking me on a date to the Bean Museum. Five Months later we were married in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple on June 7 with Pres Blackburn as our sealer.

This has been such an amazing journey and We look forward with open arms to the future.
